He's doing it...

That's right...Finn's walking. Just a few weeks shy of his 1st birthday and he is doing it. He has been taking steps for weeks now but on March 3rd it became official. We watched him take his usual steps but then he turned and kept going, and going, and going. He was so excited he just kept walking around the house in circles. I'm going to post a video of him so you can see how funny he looks with his little legs and his chest out. The best part about him walking is watching him walk and hold hands with his sister...priceless.

Oldies but goodies

I was looking at old pictures and came across some videos of Malley when she was about 1 1/2 years old. She was mostly bald but as pretty as ever. She always had such a big personality and was sooooo funny. I can't believe how mature she has always been especially with her facial expressions. Check out this video of Malley playing with her friend Zane and not knowing that I'm filming her.

Garage time

Now that we cleaned out our garage the kids have a new space to play. It's a work in progress but it's nice to have now that the rain is here. Malley has her soccer goal and trampoline out there and lots of ride on toys. Finn can only sit in the wagon until we get carpet out there. He just sits there and laughs at his sister who to him is the funniest person in the world.

New Things...

Christmas time was very busy and exhausting. Malley came down with croup on Christmas Eve and we did have to take a little trip to the ER that morning. Christmas Day was very eventful spending time with the Meema's and Papa's. Malley must have been a good girl because she received lots of new goodies including a real drum set from Uncle Aaron.
With all these new gifts and with the New Year approaching, it got me thinking about all the new things we have been blessed with recently.
Finn got his two front teeth for Christmas (glad that's over with). He also discovered his new things...pulling himself up on everything, side stepping while holding on to the couch, dancing, saying da-da and ba-ba, and his latest new things are doing "soooo big" and using sign language to say "more".
Malley's new things are ice skating for the first time, riding her big girl bike, having her first sharing day at school, and constantly increasing her vocabulary daily.
These new things are so precious to me because they are priceless. My babies are growing and changing everyday and I have to remember to watch and witness these new things before they pass. All the "stuff" we receive at Christmas time is great, but not what really matters. So this year instead of thinking about all the new things I want to buy, I am going to enjoy all the new things Finn is going to do, and watch Malley discover her new talents, and be thankful for the blessed life I have.

Life

This week has been a very challenging week, from the long sleepless nights to the days full of time-outs, tantrums, crabbiness, and crying. I've had to reach down deep inside and pull out what little piece of strength I could find to make it through each day. And here I am, still in one piece, able to sneak off into the other room and write this blog. Although I have a very short fuse, and feel exhausted, I still managed to grab the camera and snap some really good shots of us. Malley was crying just moments before, and Finn has a red mark on his face from being hit by Malley's brush. However, we pulled it together.
