Christmas time was very busy and exhausting. Malley came down with croup on Christmas Eve and we did have to take a little trip to the ER that morning. Christmas Day was very eventful spending time with the Meema's and Papa's. Malley must have been a good girl because she received lots of new goodies including a real drum set from Uncle Aaron.
With all these new gifts and with the New Year approaching, it got me thinking about all the new things we have been blessed with recently.
Finn got his two front teeth for Christmas (glad that's over with). He also discovered his new things...pulling himself up on everything, side stepping while holding on to the couch, dancing, saying da-da and ba-ba, and his latest new things are doing "soooo big" and using sign language to say "more".
Malley's new things are ice skating for the first time, riding her big girl bike, having her first sharing day at school, and constantly increasing her vocabulary daily.
These new things are so precious to me because they are priceless. My babies are growing and changing everyday and I have to remember to watch and witness these new things before they pass. All the "stuff" we receive at Christmas time is great, but not what really matters. So this year instead of thinking about all the new things I want to buy, I am going to enjoy all the new things Finn is going to do, and watch Malley discover her new talents, and be thankful for the blessed life I have.
What a wonderful appreciation you have, Julie, for what is really important in life. You have figured out what means the most, and you and Adam have these little people in your lives to demonstrate this for you every day. How lucky that is!
