Life

This week has been a very challenging week, from the long sleepless nights to the days full of time-outs, tantrums, crabbiness, and crying. I've had to reach down deep inside and pull out what little piece of strength I could find to make it through each day. And here I am, still in one piece, able to sneak off into the other room and write this blog. Although I have a very short fuse, and feel exhausted, I still managed to grab the camera and snap some really good shots of us. Malley was crying just moments before, and Finn has a red mark on his face from being hit by Malley's brush. However, we pulled it together.

Things I love...

I love my little's so much. I love watching them grow, watching them explore and learn, I love their own special unique personalities, I just love everything about them, and mostly I love being their mom.

Finn started saying "da da" the other day, and now he can't stop. He also has two new teeth popping through. Malley loves her school and I received my very first macaroni necklace that I'll keep forever. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful children.

Halloween treats

This year Halloween was awesome!!! Malley and Finn were dressed as skeletons for a Halloween/Birthday party during the day. Me and Adam wore 80's attire head to toe. Then we returned home and the kids changed into their outfits, Finn as a very sad bear, and Malley as SpongeBob of course. My family came over and we had food and cocktails while we waited for the darkness to set in. Then we headed out for our night of trick or treating. The neighborhood was full of people walking from house to house, like the way it was when I was a kid. We hit up the block and returned home. It was a blast. The night ended with Malley asleep on the couch and my very last trick or treater at eleven. Lights out, off to bed.

Pumpkin Carving

Malley really wanted to make her pumpkin "spooky" she said. So I let her create her own masterpiece, and this is what she ended up with. I think this may be the scariest pumpkin I've ever seen.

Flipper Finn

He practically swims already. I let him go crazy in the bath tonight and he was splashing and rolling and even putting his face in the water. I should have known he would love the water, after all, he is a Pisces, and his name is Finn.

Time To Baby Proof

I can't take my eyes off this little guy, and not because he's so handsome, but because he is into EVERYTHING. His favorites include: banging hands or toys on the glass T.V. stand, touching the fireplace (sounds dangerous, but actually it's not that bad), playing with cords, remotes, phones. He is constantly putting things into his mouth, and if nothing is available, he will put his toes in. Big sis Malley loves to put things in his mouth too. Once I caught her giving her gum to him, and yesterday he was sucking on her ring pop. It sometimes feels like a circus at my house. I can't even turn my back for a minute without someone getting hurt, or needing something from me. Right now as I'm typing, I hear the sound of Finn crying in the next room, but hey, at least I got to slip away for a while unnoticed. I better get back to my circus and see what my monkeys are up too.

First Day of School

After a crazy night of no sleep I found myself packing a lunch at 6 am for Malley's first day of school. I think I was more nervous than she was. I can't believe my little girl is going to school already. When she woke up she decided to unpack her lunch and repack it the way she wanted. She put her backpack on and said.."I'm ready for school now", as she stood there still in her pajamas.

Malley wore her yellow "quack" raincoat and had to have her umbrella that matched. The weather was just how I remembered it was when I was a kid going to school. It always seemed rainy for some reason.
First day was a success.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Guess who had their first haircut???

Finn did!!!

Look at how handsome he is. Corinne (my brother's girlfriend), did an awesome job cutting his wings and trimming his bangs. He loved the whole process. He kept looking around with his bobble head while she clipped away.

Bye bye wing

Here he is loving all the attention

Break time so Finn can put the comb in his mouth

A little water for the finishing touch

And there you have it...the new and improved Finn

F-I- double N-E-G-A-N spells Finnegan...that's me!

I'm loving Finn's hair lately. It's not standing up so much in the back, but he still has his wings on the side.

3 going on 13

Malley has been rocking out to her new Taylor Swift cd, which I gave her as a reward for good behavior. She likes to play a game she calls "rockstar" and makes everyone dress up and play an instrument in her band, including Finn on the banana guitar. Daddy plays the harmonica, and Malley is always on the drums, I usually end up with the pink maraca, or the air guitar.

the little ones

I love waking up to these two faces every morning.
